FABRIC DESCRIPTIONS
charmeuse
made with a satin weave which is soft and drapes beautifully. The front side has a satin finish, lustrous and reflective, and the back has a dull finish. This fabric can be used only on styles that begin with #48. Look for the "C" on the fabric page.
silk dupioni
lustrous silk that shimmers and changes colors in the light. It has a moderate crisp drape, fairly reflective lustre and nubby texture. Very durable for the body of the garment as well as all trims and options. For available colors, look for the "D" on the fabric page.
silk organza
a sheer, thin, open weave crispy fabric with a smooth finish. Organza is best used for hem trims, sashes, accents, etc. Organza is not recommended for the body of the dress. For available colors, look for the "O" on the fabric page.
silk shantung
lustrous silk that shimmers in the light. It has a crisp drape, reflective lustre and mostly smooth texture. Very durable for the body of the garment as well as all trims and options. For available colors, look for the "S" on the fabric page.
Eastern silk shantung
lustrous silk with a matte finish and graceful drape. Surface has fine slubs, which gives it a smoother appearance than dupioni. Also very durable for the body of the garment as well as all trims and options. For available colors, look for the "E" on the fabric page.
silk crepes-bridal gowns
luxurious, heavy 4-ply fabric with a fabulous sheen or pebbly texture. The satin finish is shiny, lustrous, and reflective. The matte finish is pebbly with a dull lustre. Both finishes drape beautifully and are most frequently used for bridal gowns. Also available in any color that has a "C" on fabric page. |
